Sharing My Heart, Time For An Update

Hey guys! I'm back! Well, sort of.  If you follow me on Instagram you know where this post is headed.  Since my decision to stop blogging, I've really missed you guys and a lot of things have become more clear for me.  I really felt strongly that God was leading me to focus on something more important than just this blog, and more than anything I want to follow his plan for my life. During my time away, I've focused on my relationship with Jesus, my role as a mother and wife, and our farm.  I even opened up an Etsy shop which has been something I've wanted to do for years!

I didn't fully realize, until I walked away from it all, the positive impact this blog and the relationships formed through this blog and Instagram had on me.  You guys are so motivating and encouraging.  It's like a daily visit with your best friend, and when you are a stay at home farming mama, those kind of relationships are super important!

So, maybe that was the purpose of me walking away for a while.  Maybe I needed to have a better understanding and appreciation for social interaction outside of my home!  Maybe God wasn't telling me to walk away completely, but to just be more myself and share more of what's in my heart, whether it's a thrifty room makeover, a book that has really inspired me, or glimpses of life on our farm.  I'm not really sure, I just know that there is a major void for me, and it just doesn't feel right! I know there are a zillion home decor and DIY blogs out there, which is one of the reasons I felt my blog wasn't really contributing anything new, but then I realized that it's not really about that.  It's about people, loving and interacting with others,  forming friendships, sharing ideas and advice, and finding joy wherever you may be.

But here's the thing, if I'm going to continue blogging I want to share things are are meaningful, encouraging, and truly helpful. I want you to leave my blog with a smile on your face and plenty of inspiration to carry on!  I know blogging experts say you must have a niche, but I'm sort of tired of that.  I want to talk about whatever is on my heart that day, so that's what I plan to do. I realize that some readers may not be into that and may stop visiting, but then maybe a few new ones will join us, who knows!

So I'm thinking I'll choose one day per week to post something new.  It may be a new home decor project that we have completed, it may be a post about happenings around our farm, or something else entirely, who knows.  I'm completely aware that this goes against the typical rules of blogging, but hey, it's my blog right!?

So now that I've shared all that, I want to say thanks again for putting up with my flip floppy brain and all my craziness! I'm excited to see where this goes and I hope you will stay with me.  I'd love to hear your thoughts! Comment below or find me on Instagram @graceleecottage. ( I heart Instagram!)

Have a BLESSED day!
